.....creative fun!

Just sharing a few layouts I finished up today. They were all in different stages of completion, just needed final touches! Layout above and below are from Christmas 2008, the year we celebrated in Carrollton, right after Morgan was born. In the picture above, Grayson is "writing" on his new art easel from Neenie. Below is Kelsey enjoying a makeup kit from Sissy Jen.

Kelsey loves to read cookbooks as much as I do. She recently looked through my newest one and quickly found something she wanted to try. Sometimes she likes to cook, sometimes it's a request for ME to make it. This was a very simple dessert to make and very, very yummy---especially "hot out of the oven". Give it a try, it's quick and easy.

Easy Cherry Cobbler

1 can (20 ounce) cherry pie filling

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

2 cups biscuit/baking mix

(I used Bisquick)

2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon sugar, divided

1/2 cup milk

2 tablespoons margarine, melted

In a large bowl, combine pie filling and extract, spread into a 9" deep-dish pie pan. Bake uncovered, at 400* for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the baking mix and 2 tablespoons sugar. In another bowl, combine the milk and margarine. Stir milk mixture into dry ingredients until a soft dough forms. Drop the dough by spoonfuls over the warmed pie filling. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Bake, uncovered, at 400* for 20-25 minutes or until the topping is golden brown. Serve warm.

It was even good the next morning for breakfast, warmed in the microwave:) I think I'll try apple pie filling next time, yum!!! Let me know if you give it a try!!!

New Layouts, as promised.....

I love being snowed in for a day or two. It gives me time to play around in my scrap room. I don't worry about anyone coming to the front door unannounced---the weather is too bad for social travel, AND I can stay in my jammies all day! That's exactly what I did on Friday. Here are the new layouts I got done.....

I love the pic above of Kelsey and Caleb. I got an extra one to put in a new frame Jamie & Joel got me for Christmas. It felt so good to be scrappin' all day......Now, if I just had all of my school work caught up, I could do it again today!

I felt so lucky that the weather didn't get really bad until after I got home from school on Thursday and all of the buses had time to get the students home safely. The photo above is what it looked like outside my front window when I got home, I wasn't about to open the door for a better picture--it was so cold!!

This is a picture out in the backyard, taken Friday morning. Again, I was not willing to open the door and let the cold air inside, this one was taken through a large window and the screen on the back porch. You can tell the wind was blowing the snow up against the screen.

I bundled up and ventured outdoors Saturday. I wanted to get a few photos of the yard and I was curious to see if I would be able to get my car out of the garage without shoveling the snow. NO! Of course not. I cleaned a little bit off--but I had just previously finished my Wii workout! I got tired pretty quickly, guess that leaves more for me to do tomorrow, huh?

Kelsey is having a very difficult time understanding why I won't let her go anywhere. She is saying, "But, everyone is going somewhere!" She is just so bored!!! And, yes--I reminded her of what happened last time she drove in the bad weather. None of us want to go through that again. They did push a big plow down our road a couple of hours ago. So, I'm thinking, if we can get out of the driveway tomorrow, we should be able to get around town.

I have to say, it was really a pretty snow. I wish Grayson had been here for this one, we could have made a monster of a snowman!!!

.....a favorite pastime

Here are a few layouts I have been working on the last couple of weeks. I haven't had as much time as I would like to have, but I'm not complaining. I've been cleaning out closets and clearing out Caleb's bedroom for a complete makeover!! His room needs a fresh coat of paint desperately, it hasn't been retouched since we moved in over 12 years ago. Since he is living in an apartment in Norman, now seems like a good time. The pics of Grayson (above) were taken while Jen and I were watching the kids for Jamie and Joel last September. He is such a ham.....

This little layout features Mr. Morgan, he always has such a sweet smile.
