Some quick pages...

Here's a layout I did to show how surprised we were when Grayson and Joel showed up at our "ALL GIRLS" weekend. We took a break to play and smile for the camera!

The pictures aren't the best, but I wanted to document the fun
weekend we had scrapping together!
Being able to scrap for a bit makes me eager to play more! First, I have some things to do around the house. Some dusting, laundry, watering the plants, vacuuming, etc., YOU KNOW---all the usual weekend "catching up" stuff we all do. Hope to be back soon with more pages!!!

Painted Cupboard
(02-25-09)

This is one of my pieces painted by Blakeley Wilson. She is a folk art painter from Eureka Springs. I've purchased several paintings of hers over the years and I love them all. I really enjoy having them in my house to admire. They're probably some of my favorite possessions. She paints tiny, and she is very detail oriented. They make me smile. And.......she's a super sweet lady!!!

A treasured trip........

I love going to visit these two! Kelsey and Deda went with me to Dallas last weekend and we had a great time. We played and played. Grayson is talking up a storm and it's so fun to listen to him put words together, he's making sentences, and telling you all about things that are going on. And his facial expressions are so cute--he is such a happy little fellow--I could just set and watch him play for days. Here he is lovin' on little brother. He is really sweet with him.Kelsey talked us all into playing a little Wii. Deda got to practice her bowling skills--it was her first time to play on the Wii--but she got into it really quickly. After playing Kelsey, she gave Jamie a turn. I even witnessed some really mean boxing skills between Kelsey and Jen--it sure makes for some fun entertainment. Grayson even got Kelsey to play a little Wii with him. He wanted to try it all, baseball, tennis, bowling and boxing!!!
I love being able to spend large chunks of time with my family. Since the girls live several hours away, I know we'll get to spend at least 3 days together (as opposed to just a few hours at time). We usually just hang out, eat, relax, talk, play games, play with the kids, snack, chill, whatever----I just love being with them. And I love that my mom goes with me. Thanks girls, for spending time with me! I feel very lucky!!

"Home Alone" Face
(02-22-09)

Kelsey loves to teach Grayson something new to "mimic"---he's so good at it right now. This is his "Home Alone" face she showed him how to do. Of course, we all know the movie so we got quite the chuckle out of it. He doesn't have a clue, except that we all think he's pretty darn CUTE!

Library Books...
(02-20-09)
A stack of books waiting to be returned the local library.
In other news......I'm on my way to visit my sweet grandsons and other 2 daughters. Kelsey and Deda are making the weekend trip with me, so it should make for a fun car ride! Be back in a couple of days with updates and more pics!!! Enjoy your weekend and do something FUN!

Gobble, Gobble...

Here's a layout I did with pre-Thanksgiving pics. Since Jamie couldn't travel during the holiday season, I spent extra time at their house. I visited about a week before Thanksgiving and Grayson and I made turkey cupcakes. He had a lot of fun decorating (and eating!), the evidence is on his face!!

Colorful Journal
(02-19-09)

I'm sure I've mentioned before my addiction to cute notepads and cool journals. This one was a gift from one of my daughters and I love the colors and pattern!! It is usually found on the round table beside the recliner in the living room. Looking through it I see various notes I've taken; grocery lists I have jotted down, the guest list and addresses for a baby shower I helped with, times and dates for tests I have had done, sketches and doodling ideas for future scrapbook pages, lists of knitting patterns I would like to try, to-do lists, a list of my "photo of the day" pics, pictures I want to order from Snapfish, directions to some one's house, a list of tasks for re-doing Kelsey's bedroom, and on and on......I guess someone could actually get a tiny glimpse of who I am, just by looking through the pages.

I've had this layout on my desk for a couple of weeks, in various states of being complete. Very simple, not complicated, just undone. Finally got to it today and finished it up! Makes me want to play some more!!

Yummmmmmy...
(02-16-09)
Ok, totally an impulse buy. But, I had to make a quick stop at Wal Mart on my way home from work to pick up a couple of things for dinner. I know Valentine's Day is over, but don't these look so, so good! They're such a comfort food for me, and I know I'll make brownie points with Kelsey. She loves them too!!!

Colorful Bowls
(02-15-09)
Look what I found to go with my red fiesta dishes! Aren't they fun? I used a gift certificate I received from my hubby for Christmas, and they were on sale, YEAH! How do you like them, Robin--did I do good?

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all!!!
(02-14-09)
I hope everyone has a happy day today. Hubby and I went to Tulsa yesterday afternoon so he could take his car in for a recall check. I met him there, not knowing they were going to offer us a car to use in the meantime. While it was being worked on we ran some quick errands in my car, hung out at the bookstore for a bit and ate at Hideaway Pizza, YUM!! On the way home, we picked up a couple of movies to watch over the weekend. He even offered to trade cars, drive mine home and filled it up with gas! How sweet is that?

More Plants...and a stand
(02-13-09)
These plants are awaiting the bright sunny day they can move outside for the summer. The pale yellow plant stand belonged to Dan's mother and I got to bring it home and find a new spot for it. It stays out on the screened-in porch until the freezing weather arrives--then it gets carried inside for safety. It's one of several pieces of furniture that I've inherited that brings back sweet memories of years gone by.

Inside Plants
(02-12-09)
Is it Spring yet? Since I enjoy having plants on my screened-in porch during the summer season, that means I have to find somewhere inside the house for them to live in the wintertime. It also means I have to be very careful when I water so I don't drip extra water on the furniture. I'm getting "Spring Fever" and I'm ready to transfer them outside!!! ...looking forward to some sunny warm weather!

Caleb's Art Project
(02-09-09)
Caleb took an art class last semester in college. This is one of his creations for a project they had to complete. I thought it was so clever, it really shows a little piece of who he is. He started with a wooden box and used popsicle sticks to make the piano keys on the top. He added sheets of music on the inside along with photos taken at the piano from one of his music classes.

Grayson plays T-Ball
(02-08-09)
G got an early Valentine's Day surprise from mommy and daddy while I was there for the weekend. So, guess what we did? We played and played and played!!!
Grayson Noel
(02-07-09)
Isn't this the funniest?! Well, maybe you had to be there. I was taking pictures of Morgan and Grayson together in the bed. G decided he wanted one of only himself so he got up really close to the camera and just stared at me. When he saw it on the viewfinder, he said, "that's reDONKulous"! He laughed and laughed and made such a big deal out of it. Still not too sure if he is the one making up the funny word, or if he is getting some creative help from his Aunt Sissy.

Lil' Morgan
(02-06-09)

Hadn't seen my little fellow in several weeks, way too long!
how much he has grown.
He is such a happy little guy, I love him to pieces!!

Kelsey Takes the ACT Test
(02-05-09)

Since I was going to be gone for the weekend, I wanted to prepare Kelsey for Saturday morning. On a day when she usually gets to sleep in, she had to get up by herself and be at school by 8:00 a.m. to take the ACT test for the first time. I was going to Dallas so i wouldn't be there to make sure she got up and out the door on time. I left everything on the bar with a check list for her to double-check before she left the house. She made it to school on time with everything she needed and took the test-but that doesn't mean that she was happy about it!!!

Another Baby K. Layout...

Just look at all that sweetness! (Kinsley, not me!) I kinda went crazy with the flower embellishments--they just seemed to grow and grow....

Time to Share...

Here is a layout of Robin's first grandchild and first granddaughter, Kinsley. I have to give equal time to all of the new babies. She is just so sweet and precious! Below is a closeup of some of the embellishments I used, very fun to use so much PINK!

Isn't she the most adorable thing?

Water Meter Readings
(02-03-09)
While this is not an awesome photo of any kind, it does represent one of my monthly duties. Since we are rural, we read our own water meters and record it on our monthly bills. The lack of focus is totally my fault--not the cameras. It was so, so cold outside--I was in a hurry to run back into the house where it was cozy and warm!

Take a Peek....
(2-01-09)
I haven't baked homemade bread in a long time. I used to make some almost every week in the fall/winter season. Not sure why I haven't been baking lately, maybe because the temperature has been so erratic---guess I just haven't been in the mood. But that all changed today, we'll be enjoying some hot, yummy wheat rolls with butter and honey----in just about 15 minutes!

Heart Garland.....

I had so much fun with this project. I saw the idea here. She has some really cool ideas. I used some yarn I already had in my stash, so I didn't spend any extra money to make it. Here's a closeup of one of the hearts:

I hung it in the living room over the fireplace at the top of my huge mirror. I still had my paper stars up from last Christmas (2007!)---took them down to make room for the hearts.

Hope Grayson likes the hearts as much as he did the stars! Happy February!!!
