Callie

Not that anyone is wondering where she is, but just in case you were---she's still hanging out at our house. She's really a sweet kitty and she reminds us so much of Callie. In fact, we have all had a slip of the tongue and called out Callie's name in error, more than once. She sleeps a lot, likes to play, snuggles up to Roger on the couch while he watches T.V. and tries to dart out any open door. Yes, I said, "DART out"! She has done it twice now. The first time I was coming in from getting the mail, and the second time was when Kelsey came in from school. But, she didn't just "DART out", she proceeded to run to the nearest tree and climb up just as fast as she could. We nervously stood by the tree until she decided to climb back down (backwards) to safety. It really shouldn't be such a big deal. I'm sure she would come back to the door when she got hungry. But, we have several dogs in our neighborhood that run wild. And I would hate to see what the result would be if Melody met up with one. If there happened to be a confrontation, I think she would win!

Can you tell what this is? It's clear blue skies! Exciting, huh? I ran some errands after work today and it was finally pretty enough to open the sun roof in the car. It was really nice to enjoy some warm, fresh air. Bring it on!!

Once I got home, I made a quick tour around the yard to see if anything new was happening. I did find some blooms on my ground cover in the back yard. I love that I have a bit of color early in the spring. Most of my plants are summer bloomers, so it's nice to have some color early on. If the azalea blooms didn't freeze last night, we'll be enjoying them soon!!!

Started another project. Crochet this time. Shouldn't take too long to complete, it's not too complicated. Can you tell what it's going to be? Hint: It will go in our bedroom. Hope to have a picture of the finished project soon!

Asiago Bread, again.....

Asiago Cheese Bread #II

Oh my! This bread was so, so good. This is the 2nd recipe I have tried for asiago cheese bread, and it was the best! I found a really cool iphone application, "Betty Crocker Mobile Recipes" and added it to my phone. You can enter food items you have on hand and search for a recipe that includes what you have. I put in "asiago cheese" and found this recipe. Caleb is home for the weekend so he got to enjoy it, too. We paired it up with some homemade potatoe soup. Oh my.........

I started a little scarf with intentions of saving it for a Christmas present. I know, it's early, but knitted gifts take some time to complete. But, the more I work on this stripey piece, the more I like it. It' s very likely it will end up in MY closet. Merry Christmas to me, I guess!!
